A homeless woman attacked a bus driver in Los Angeles on May 5 after allegedly refusing to pay the fare, according to media reports.

The incident occurred at about 12:40 p.m. at the South-Central Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard intersection, police told media sources.

The woman, whose identity has not been revealed, allegedly attacked the Department of Transportation (DOT) Dash bus driver after she told her to get off the bus for refusing to pay the fare.

The standard bus fare is 50 cents per ride, according to the LADOT website.

Video of the incident shows the woman attacking the driver while she was still in the driver’s seat behind a plexiglass door. The woman opened the door and started hitting her as the driver fought back and yelled at her to get off the bus.

The driver then managed to push her attacker off the bus, but the woman kept hitting her and tried to punch her in the face. She also punched her in the back as the driver picked up the unidentified woman’s bag.

The footage shows the driver then throwing the woman’s bag at her and getting back into the bus. She then closed the door and drove off.

She was reportedly treated for minor injuries while the attacker was arrested by police, according to media reports.

Police have given no further details about the incident or the charges the woman will face.
