The man who brutally attacked and nearly killed a Metro bus driver this month was found and arrested April 24 shortly after noon, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Darnell Marshon Bray, 30, was booked at the South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station on suspicion of attempted murder, and his bail was set at $2 million, authorities said.

Mr. Bray is accused of punching a Metro bus driver in the face and stabbing him at about 8:30 p.m. on April 13 in the unincorporated area of Willowbrook, just north of Compton. The victim was on his usual bus route, authorities said.

A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s department couldn’t confirm the condition of the bus driver to The Epoch Times.

According to a statement the driver gave police, Mr. Bray began yelling at him, then punched him without provocation and stabbed him. The driver said the man then exited on Wilmington Avenue and 119th Street and fled northbound on Wilmington.

Mr. Bray will be arraigned Friday at Compton Courthouse, according to the sheriff’s department.
