During a recent red carpet appearance, actor Brad Pitt shared candid reflections on personal growth, the value of simplicity, and the importance of meaningful relationships.

At the June 9 premiere of his upcoming racing film “F1” in Mexico City, Pitt, 61, spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the significance of learning from mistakes and staying connected to those who matter most.

“No matter the mistake, you just learn from it and move on, and it’ll lead to the next success,” he said. “Really, I think, you get to my age and you really see how important it is to surround yourself with the people you love, the people that will love you back—friends and family—and that’s it.”

Pitt described this mindset as a “pretty simple equation,” emphasizing a life focused on authenticity and creativity. “From there, we get to go make things,” he added.

In an earlier interview with GQ published in May, the “Fight Club” actor offered a deeper look into his experience filming “F1,” in which he plays a retired driver returning to the world of Formula 1. World champion Lewis Hamilton serves as a producer, and actor Damson Idris co-stars.

Pitt described the experience of driving high-performance vehicles on professional tracks as both mentally demanding and unexpectedly meditative.

“[If] you’re just a fraction of a second behind on your turning point, or if you’re having an uneasy day and you’re not committed to the car, trusting the car, you get it all wrong,” he said. “And then there are these days where it is so sublime, you just cannot believe what these cars can do.”

He went on to explain that the fastest parts of the track often offer a brief sense of stillness. “It’s just this moment ... on the straights, which you’re actually going the fastest, but this is the place where you actually get to rest and you can catch your breath and you just let everything down, just a couple of degrees and there your mind might wander.”

Despite years of public interest in his personal life, Pitt indicated that he has reached a point of equilibrium. “My life is fairly contained. It feels pretty warm and secure with my friends, with my loves, with my fam, with my knowledge of who I am,” he told GQ.

He acknowledged, however, that media attention has been a constant factor throughout his career. “My personal life is always in the news. It’s been in the news for 30 years. ... Or some version of my personal life, let’s put it that way.”

Pitt finalized his divorce from actress Angelina Jolie in December 2024, following a separation that began in 2016. The two share six children. He is currently in a relationship with Ines de Ramon, a 32-year-old businesswoman and jewelry designer.

With a film career spanning more than three decades, Pitt remains one of the most recognized actors in the industry. He received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and continues to produce films through his company, Plan B Entertainment.

“F1” is expected to be released on June 27.
