A man suspected of committing a series of vehicle burglaries in West Los Angeles has been arrested, according to a statement by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Authorities allege Thomas Gardner, 55, targeted and burglarized multiple vehicles parked in underground garages from July to February.

They additionally claim Mr. Gardner was storing stolen property in self-storage units that he rented throughout Los Angeles. They allege he resold the items on various online marketplace platforms.

After getting a search warrant, LAPD detectives seized several items believed stolen from the victims of the auto burglaries, such as golf clubs, designer sunglasses, and electronics, according to the statement. The items have been returned to the victims, police said.

Mr. Gardner was arrested in North Hollywood Feb. 20. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed 16 felony counts against him: 14 counts of burglary, 1 count of identity theft and 1 count of second-degree burglary. His bail was set at $1.65 million.
