Man Flees Santa Ana Macy’s With Over $1,200 in Stolen Items

Police are seeking the public’s help in their search for a man suspected of stealing a large amount of merchandise from a Macy’s in Santa Ana, authorities said March 6.

According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the incident occurred at a Macy’s department store within the Mainplace Mall in Santa Ana on Dec. 15, 2023.

Security camera footage released by the police depicted the suspect entering Macy’s and attempting to leave after placing several fragrance items into a clear trash bag. When approached by a store security officer, the suspect claimed to possess a gun and mimicked concealing a weapon in his waistband, the police said.

The suspect fled with over $1,200 worth of stolen goods, according to the police.

He is described as a Hispanic male in his late 30s, wearing a black jacket, white shirt, and black pants, the police said.
