The Los Angeles Dodgers traded for Detroit Tigers third baseman Andre Lipcius on Monday in exchange for cash considerations.

In a corresponding move on the 40-man roster, Los Angeles placed left-handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw on the 60-day injured list. Kershaw is recovering from left shoulder surgery.

Kershaw, who turns 36 on March 19, underwent surgery on Nov. 3. He is looking to return to the Dodgers in July or August.

Kershaw owns a 210-92 record with a 2.48 ERA in 425 career appearances (422 starts) across 16 seasons with Los Angeles. He is a 10-time All-Star and a three-time National League Cy Young Award winner. In 2014, he won both the Cy Young and NL MVP award.

Lipcius, 25, was selected by the Tigers in the third round of the 2019 MLB Draft out of Tennessee. As a rookie in 2023, he had 10 hits in 38 plate appearances, batting .286 with one home run and four RBIs.
