Man Tries to Kidnap Girl Walking to School in Bell Gardens

BELL GARDENS, Calif.—A man attempted to kidnap a girl walking to school in Bell Gardens Jan. 11.

The girl was approached by the suspect at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Jaboneria Road shortly before noon Thursday and grabbed her by an arm, according to the Bell Gardens Police Department.

The victim broke away from the suspect and reported the situation to school officials, police said.

The suspect was described as a 5-foot-9-inch tall man weighing 170 pounds with hair that’s not groomed.

He also is believed to have facial hair and was last seen wearing a puffy blue jacket.

Anyone with information regarding the attempted kidnapping was urged to call Bell Gardens police at 562-806-7601.
