Three men were killed and a fourth critically injured when the SUV they were riding in on the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway went down an embankment in Castaic in northern Los Angeles County.
The crash was reported at about 4:30 p.m. Aug. 5 near Templin Highway. The victims were found inside the black Nissan Armada, California Highway Patrol Officer Sean Lough told City News Service.
The three men were pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel. The fourth victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The CHP issued a SigAlert that closed all lanes of the southbound portion of the freeway in the vicinity of the crash for several hours during the investigation.
