Authorities arrested two brothers Dec. 28 believed involved in stealing a woman’s purse at a Costco in November and then beating and dragging her with their car when she tried to get it back.

Andrew Morrison, 34, and David Morrison, 38, both of Diamond Bar, California, were booked last week on robbery charges and are currently being held on $500,000 bail each.

According to officials, an unnamed woman was walking in a Costco parking lot in the City of Industry, California Nov. 26 when the two grabbed her purse.

When she ran after them to retrieve it, the brothers allegedly beat her and dragged her with their car.

Police responding to the scene found the woman suffering from what they described as life-threatening injuries—including head and facial trauma—and brought her to a nearby hospital.

When searching the brother’s residence, police say they also found the woman’s stolen purse.

Authorities also said they’re investigating whether the brothers have been involved in similar robberies in the area.
