LOS ANGELES—An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.5 was reported Jan. 15 morning south of Catalina Island in the Pacific Ocean, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was centered 61.3 miles south of Avalon and about 13 miles deep.

It was centered 66 miles southwest off the coast of the La Jolla community and 67.4 miles southwest of Coronado.

First reported at 2:44 a.m. Monday, the quake also struck 69 miles off the coast of San Diego.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.
