World leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, have reacted to the death of Pope Francis. The pope died early on Monday morning after being hospitalized with double pneumonia earlier this year. “Rest in Peace Pope Francis! May God Bless him and all who loved him!”, Trump wrote on social media platform Truth Social.

Klaus Schwab, the founder of the World Economic Forum (WEF), which gathers the world’s business and political elite in the Swiss mountain village of Davos each year, has resigned as chair of its board of trustees, the WEF said on Monday. “Following my recent announcement, and as I enter my 88th year, I have decided to step down from the position of Chair and as a member of the Board of Trustees, with immediate effect,” Schwab wrote in a statement released by the WEF.

Trump stands behind U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said on Monday, after reports emerged saying Hegseth shared details of a March attack on Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis in a message group that included his wife, brother, and personal lawyer.
