A woman who was found dead in a San Francisco hotel room on New Year’s Day has been identified as Victoria Jones, the daughter of award-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones.
The 34-year-old was found unresponsive at the Fairmont Hotel at 2:52 a.m. on Jan. 1, the San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) confirmed to The Epoch Times.
At the time, units with SFFD responded to the hotel following calls of a medical emergency for an unknown individual. Upon arrival, paramedics performed an assessment where the person was declared deceased at the scene.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in San Francisco was later called to the scene along with the local police department, where they identified the unknown individual as Victoria Jones.
The medical examiner confirmed her identity in an email to The Epoch Times, adding her legal next of kin have been notified. Her official cause of death, however, has not been disclosed.
In a statement to the local NBC Bay Area affiliate, the Fairmont Hotel stated its team is “deeply saddened” by the incident that occurred at their establishment and is cooperating with authorities as they further investigate the matter.
“Our heartfelt condolences are with the family and loved ones during this very difficult time,” the hotel stated. “The hotel team is actively cooperating and supporting police authorities within the framework of the ongoing investigation.”
Victoria Jones was the daughter of Tommy Lee Jones, 79, and his ex-wife Kimberlea Cloughley. The former couple, who were married from 1981 to 1996, also share a son, Austin Jones, 43.
Best known for his renowned blockbusters, including “The Fugitive” (1993), “No Country for Old Men” (2007), “Lincoln” (2012), and many others, Tommy Lee Jones continues to make his mark on Hollywood as an Oscar-winning actor, director, and writer.
Victoria Jones took an interest in her father’s craft at a young age, following in his footsteps where she acted opposite from him as a child in “Men in Black II” (2002) and “The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada” (2005), a film Tommy Lee Jones also directed.
Victoria Jones’s other credits include “Sorry, Haters” (2005), “The Homesman” (2014), and a single episode appearance on the hit television drama series “One Tree Hill” in 2003.
She later spent most of her life out of the spotlight, but would accompany her father to movie premieres and red carpet events throughout his career. Most recently, Victoria appeared alongside Tommy Lee Jones at the 2017 premiere of “Just Getting Started.”
The Epoch Times reached out to the San Francisco Police Department for further information and did not hear back by the time of publication.
