President Donald Trump on Oct. 22 urged Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) to resign from her congressional role over allegations that she used a fake name to enter Congress. This followed a motion filed by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro on Oct. 21 that referred to Omar as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.”

The filing sought a court order to postpone the government’s deadline to respond to requests from The New York Times and other outlets to unseal records relating to a warrant to search the congresswoman’s home.

Israel ordered its military on Friday to prepare for a full closure of the West Bank, following a deadly shooting near the city of Hebron. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to intensify counterterrorism operations ahead of next week’s national election.

The order followed what the Israel Defense Forces described as a shooting attack at Yehuda Junction, southwest of Hebron near the boundary between southern Israel and the West Bank.
