U.S. President Donald Trump said on Oct. 19 that he was open to holding a trilateral meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss denuclearization.

Moscow earlier that day proposed a meeting among the three leaders, with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov saying talks could take place on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit scheduled for next month in Shenzhen, China.

Overnight curfews in violence-hit zones of France’s biggest cities helped bring respite from the nation’s worst unrest in years, the government said, ahead of more protests planned for the weekend.

Buoyed by protests in France, crowds have also taken to the streets in other countries, including Italy and Albania, where similar anger over living conditions has led to clashes.
