On Saturday, April 22, two 17-year-old boys were rushed to the hospital after a shooting occurred near the Laguna Hills Community Center at the 25000 block of Alicia Parkway.

One of the boys was in stable condition and the other critical, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were dispatched Saturday around 10 p.m., and upon arrival, immediately started life-saving measures until the Orange County Fire Authority personnel arrived. The victims were then transferred to a local hospital, according to the sheriff’s department’s statement released on April 24.

The Sheriff’s Department later identified the suspect as Luis Angel Martinezmondragon, 21, of Aliso Viejo, who was arrested on the morning of April 23.

Martinezmondragon was booked at the Orange County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder; no weapon was recovered, according to the authorities.

KTLA reported on April 23 the shooting took place during a quinceanera party. The sheriff’s department didn’t confirm with The Epoch Times whether such was the case.
