A two-car crash on Feb. 12 in Gramercy Park, Los Angeles, resulted in one death and one arrest, authorities said.

The accident took place around 11:45 p.m. at Western Avenue and Century Boulevard, as a Tesla Model 3 ran a red light and crashed into a Chevrolet Malibu while it was traveling southbound on Western at a high speed.

“The impact of the Tesla Model 3 projected the Chevrolet Malibu several yards, causing fatal injuries to the (Chevrolet) driver, who was the only occupant in the vehicle,” police said in a statement.

The Chevrolet driver, Alfred Joseph Marvray IV, 28, of Los Angeles, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Tesla driver has been identified as Destiney Baker, 26, of Hawthorne, according to police.

Baker, who is suspected of DUI, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held on $2 million bail, police said in the statement.

The Los Angeles Police Department asked anyone with more information to contact the South Traffic Division at 213-924-3621, or 877-LAPD-247. Anyone who wants to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS or go to its website.
