Man Dies at Excavation Site in Orange County

TUSTIN, Calif.—A man died Dec. 20 at the scene of an excavation at a worksite near Tustin.
Firefighters were sent to the 9800 block of Newport Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday on a report of a “medical emergency,” according to the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA).
The man, believed to have been a worker, was underground in an excavation, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, the OCFA reported. Information on his identity was not immediately available.
The circumstances of the death were under investigation.
