President Donald Trump came to his Cabinet meeting with a fresh ultimatum prepared for Iran. The president said he’s refusing to let talks be hindered by political pressure and commented that Iran is “negotiating on fumes.”

Texas Republicans came out in force to pick Ken Paxton for the Texas Senate race. It serves as an example of the president’s endorsement clout, part of a greater strategy ahead of the midterms.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is threatening to block international flights to sanctuary cities. In the wake of violent protests at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Newark, the department seeks to weaken the mechanisms that incentivize illegal immigration. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin vowed to take action against efforts to disrupt ICE, stating, “We see Antifa signs are literally out there.”

Meanwhile, states that have failed to verify recipients of federal benefit programs and identify fraudsters are being forced to take notice, as the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud reports decades of theft and misuse of taxpayer funds.
