Prosecutors have filed multiple felony charges against a 22-year-old man accused of killing longtime “American Idol” music supervisor Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, during a burglary at the couple’s Los Angeles-area home.

The suspect, Raymond Boodarian, was formally charged Thursday with two counts of murder and one count of residential burglary with a person present.

Prosecutors also filed special circumstance allegations, including committing multiple murders and killing during the commission of a burglary. Additional firearm allegations were included in the complaint.

The charges come just days after the victims—both 70 years old—were found dead inside their Encino home on July 15.

Police were dispatched to the couple’s residence for a welfare check after friends and family reported they had not heard from them in several days. Upon entering the gated property, officers discovered both Kaye and Deluca suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the suspect had broken into the residence several days earlier while the couple was away. Police had been called to the home on July 10 to investigate a report of a possible burglary. At that time, officers found no signs of forced entry or immediate cause for concern.

Authorities now allege the suspect gained access to the home through an unlocked door. When Kaye and Deluca returned unexpectedly, they encountered the intruder, leading to a fatal confrontation.

“The victims returned home while the suspect was inside their residence, and a confrontation ensued, which resulted in the suspect taking their lives,” the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement.

Police said the suspect fled on foot, and detectives later identified him through surveillance footage, witness interviews, and evidence recovered at the scene. Boodarian was arrested without incident on Tuesday.

Public records show he had previously been arrested in 2024 on charges of battery, exhibiting a deadly weapon, and making criminal threats. Those charges were later dismissed.

Robin Kaye had worked on “American Idol” for more than 15 years and was involved in music supervision for other productions, including “The Singing Bee,” “Hollywood Game Night,” “Lip Sync Battle,” and multiple Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, according to IMDb. She was actively working on the upcoming season of “American Idol” at the time of her death.

The Epoch Times reached out to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for updates on the status of the case and received no response at the time of publication.
