As President Donald Trump marks his first 100 days in office, NTD revisits some of the policies he has enacted since becoming president. The Trump administration has tackled the war in Ukraine, with illegal immigration, the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) initiative, and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) also taking center stage.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Liberals retained power in Canada’s general election on Monday. Though victorious, the Liberal Party could still fall short of the 172 seats needed for an absolute majority in the 343-seat House of Commons. With 98 percent of polls reported, the Liberals were leading or elected in 167 electoral districts, followed by the Conservatives with 145, with three other parties taking 31 seats.
U.S. lawmakers worked on the details of a new federal budget on Monday. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) met with Trump and five other budget leaders in Congress for talks, with a focus on border security and immigration policy.
