A homeless man was stabbed in Burbank, and an investigation was underway on June 21, police said.
Officers were sent to the 1500 block of North Victory Place at about 11 p.m. on June 20, according to the Burbank Police Department.
“An employee of Wendy’s ... called the Burbank Police to report a man standing in the drive-through lane claiming to have been stabbed,” police said in a statement.
Officers found the 52-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds. Officer and Burbank Fire Department Paramedics treated him at the scene before he was hospitalized in stable condition, police said.
“The victim told officers he and the suspect were both homeless,” police said. “The two had an argument which turned physical when the suspect stabbed the victim multiple times.”
Police searched the area, but were unable to find the suspect, whose description was not released. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance videos and looking for evidence to identify the suspect, according to a department press release (pdf).
Anyone with information about the case is urged to call police at 818-238-3210.
