‘Family Musical Encounters’ at Concordia University
Enjoy the Concordia Wind Orchestra performing the family-friendly concert “A Tail of Two Tunes.” The concert will include familiar cartoon themes and toy-inspired music. Following the performance, walk to the Music Building where children of all ages can enjoy interactive musical demonstrations from various stations including brass tryouts, percussion instruments, movement, and dance activities.
Irvine New Year Event
Enjoy a fair with the family while supporting local businesses in Irvine, featuring an ax-throwing station, face painting, photo opportunities, a bird pavilion, and much more. Guests of all ages are welcome.
Parents Night Out
Drop your kids off at Premier Martial Arts while you enjoy some time to yourself Saturday night as a martial arts studio entertains the kids with an evening filled with games, martial arts, pizza, and entertainment. Nerf gun wars is the theme, and attendance is limited to kids ages 5 and up.
Family Fun Cooking Night
Spend some quality time with the entire family while learning how to cook tasty treats, all while enjoying what you make at the end of the class. Each family will complete two to three recipes including chicken and dumplings, twice-baked potatoes, and chocolate crinkle cookies.
Dragon’s Tear Tavern Board Game Night
Bring your family and friends for a full free night of board, card, dice, and miniatures gaming, all while making new friends in the community for a fun and interactive evening. Steaming hot pizza available for purchase. Guests are encouraged to bring games as well.
Monster Jam
Experience “full-throttle” family fun at Monster Jam, where world-class athletes and their 12,000-pound monster trucks tear up the dirt in competitions of speed and skill. Guests will witness big-air backflips and fierce head-to-head battles for the event championship. Fan favorites including “Innovative Max-D,” “Mighty Megalodon” and more will be performing their signature monster truck tricks in freestyle and racing competitions.
Take and Make Friendship Bracelets
Pick up a free customized package of crafts to make at home, this week featuring bracelets, from the El Modena Branch Library. Packages are available for children ages 7 to 12.
