The 43-acre Garbani Fire in Menifee is now 90 percent contained and all evacuation orders have been lifted, according to a 7:29 a.m. report on June 21 from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE).
CAL FIRE reported at 6:31 p.m. on June 20, Garbani Road between Bradley Road and Garlington Street, where the fire originated, is closed to everyone except the residents.
Firefighters from CAL FIRE and the Riverside Fire Department fought the fire throughout the night since it began Tuesday at 12:55 p.m. and remained on the scene Wednesday morning putting out remaining hot spots.
Firefighters responded immediately to the brushfire on Tuesday, stopping its forward advancement after a little over two hours. CAL FIRE helicopters could be seen picking up water from the Palms Golf Course at the Menifee Lakes Country Club to fight the fire.
According to the latest update, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
