Symphony in the Cities—‘Under the Sea’
Enjoy a family picnic with free music and summer breeze. This year’s theme “Under the Sea” is inspired by Mission Viejo’s past submerged by seawater thousands of years ago. The city’s first historic monument was a fossilized whale skull fragment found in 1973. The event features a fossil dig adventure, food trucks, and an opportunity for kids to learn how to be an orchestra conductor.

Two Stepping Under the Stars
Join thousands of others for a celebration of San Juan Capistrano’s vibrant equestrian culture with live music, food trucks, a silent auction, a kids’ fun zone, and the “largest outdoor dance floor in Orange County” under the oak trees and stars, according to the organizer.
Festival of the Butterflies
Join the festival accompanied by the joyful tunes of Mariachi Nuevo Capistrano and dress up your little ones for the kids parade to celebrate butterflies at the Los Rios Park! The event also features an array of entertainment, food and drink, and a butterfly headpiece contest.
Free National Park Day
Each year, the National Park Service designates five special days when more than 400 national parks offer free admission, such as this Saturday! A perfect day for some outdoor fun exploring nature with friends and family. Popular destinations include Joshua Tree, Lake Mead, and Death Valley.
