A woman suspected of firing multiple gunshots outside a home associated with singer Rihanna in Los Angeles has been taken into custody.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that a 35-year-old woman was arrested after gunfire erupted Sunday afternoon near the gated property in the Beverly Hills area. The suspect was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and remained in custody in the county jail with bail set at approximately $10 million.
Booking records from the Los Angeles Police Department identify the suspect as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35. According to jail records, Ortiz was arrested Sunday afternoon and booked early Monday with bail listed at more than $10 million. Prosecutors had not yet announced formal charges as of Monday.
Police were first alerted to the incident around 1:15 p.m. Sunday following reports of gunfire in the neighborhood. Officers responded to the scene and later recovered a weapon.
Footage aired by KABC-TV showed what appeared to be several bullet holes in the property’s front gate. Police said the gunfire originated from across the street.
Rihanna was inside the home at the time of the incident, but no injuries were reported. Authorities said it was not immediately known whether the suspect had any connection to the singer.
The incident is not the first security breach involving a property linked to Rihanna. In 2018, a man was arrested after breaking into another home owned by the singer in the Hollywood Hills and remaining there for about 12 hours before being discovered. The man later pleaded no contest to felony stalking and vandalism charges, along with a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest, and was sentenced to probation in 2019.
