Americans head to the polls on Election Day, after President Donald Trump gave a closing message on Monday at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. The president urged voters to go out and vote, saying that it’s a matter of the nation’s future, to protect America’s heritage and culture against what he calls “dangerous and failed ideologies.” The president’s speech capped a month of nonstop marathon campaigning. By the president’s own count, he held 30 rallies in just 32 days.

Former Congressman Hansen Clarke announced the move to support Republican Mike Rogers in the Michigan Senate race. He’s the second Democrat to break ranks after Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) made her announcement over the weekend. Clarke says he served alongside Rogers in the House and believes he will work with Democrats to get results for Michigan. As of Monday, 2.3 million Michigan voters have cast their ballots.

In an announcement on Monday, federal prosecutors say that 63 people have been charged nationwide in allegations of illegal voting, fraudulent voter registration, and false claims of U.S. citizenship. Attorney General Todd Blanche says this is the largest surge of voter-fraud arrests in Trump’s second term. The DOJ says 195 noncitizens have been charged with voting and registration offenses across 25 states in the past nine weeks—bringing the total number of people charged with voting-related offenses to 239 since Trump returned to office.
