DENVER—Glen Knickerbocker and Anna Davtyan drove over five hours from New Mexico to see Shen Yun Performing Arts in the capital of Colorado.

“The whole show is really incredible,” said Mr. Knickerbocker, founder and president of Knickerbocker Software.

The Buell Theater in Denver, Colorado, was packed with audience members watching Shen Yun, where the classical Chinese dance company graced the stage for 5 performances from April 3 to April 6.

“I’m always amazed by the timing because you’re seeing a movie plus live dancers at the same time, and the synchronization between the two is just perfection,” Mr. Knickerbocker said.

“It’s divine. It’s beautiful. It’s a spiritual experience,” said Anna Davtyan, a former martial arts instructor.

“Aesthetics, wavelengths alone can heal, right? All the sounds, frequency, music,” Ms. Davtyan noted.

Paola Farer, a former news producer, was also in attendance. She called the experience “spectacular.”

“I’ve actually seen it once before,” Ms. Farer said. “That’s why I wanted to come back with my mother. But their elegance, their strength, their stamina, the originality, and the costumes just are an amazing mixture.”

Shen Yun Performing Arts was founded in New York. Its mission is to revive traditional, divinely inspired Chinese culture that was almost destroyed under communist rule.

“Part of the reason I come here is because I support the effort to bring back tradition. It’s like integrity, and personal values, family—these things are extremely important,” Mr. Knickerbocker said.

Ms. Davtyan described the performance as inspiring: “Everything there is truth, right?”

“This is how we heal ourselves. This is how we heal our planet. This is why we can get along together,” she said.

The patrons in Colorado’s capital said they left with a profound feeling.

“Ultimately, it’s that beautiful message,” Ms. Farer said. “That there’s something within each of us which is divine, which is higher than what we’re seeing and doing each day, and the dancers just bring that out in a beautiful way, with also heart and humanity and humor as well.”

Mr. Knickerbocker said, “I always feel uplifted by seeing those parts of the performance.

“I’m very uplifted by the whole show, and that’s why I come back because it just makes me feel good,” he said.
