California’s Staffing Industry Has a Fraud Problem

Almost 2 million Californians work through staffing agencies, and most of them assume that someone on the other side of that arrangement is responsible if they get hurt on the job. In many industries, staffing companies in California aren’t required to prove compliance before they operate, so who is actually checking? When something does go wrong, the workers, the businesses that hired them, and California taxpayers often end up sharing a cost that was never supposed to be theirs.

In this episode, we sit down with Shaddi Kamiabipour, a former senior deputy district attorney in Orange County, EmployInsure CEO Mike DiManno, and former Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Snyder to explore how the staffing industry works in California and what separates legitimate players from those exploiting gaps.
