Top U.S. business leaders including Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg responded to Donald Trump’s second presidential election victory, with some saying he won decisively and fairly.

Zuckerberg, the Meta CEO, wrote on social media Wednesday offering his congratulations to Trump “on a decisive victory” on Tuesday, adding that the United States has “great opportunities ahead of us as a country. Looking forward to working with you and your administration.”

And Bezos, the founder of Amazon and owner of the Washington Post since 2013, had a similar message for the president-elect, writing that Trump is “our 45th and now 47th President,” who embarked on “an extraordinary political comeback and decisive victory.”

“No nation has bigger opportunities. Wishing [Trump] all success in leading and uniting the America we all love,” Bezos wrote on social media platform X.

In October, Bezos wrote an opinion article for the Washington Post that explained why his paper did not back a political candidate for the 2024 election. He defended the decision by saying that the news outlet’s endorsement would “do nothing to tip the scales of an election” and comes off as overly partisan for people who already distrust the media.

Sundar Pichai, the chief executive officer of Google and its parent company, Alphabet, also made note of Trump’s “decisive victory” in an X post on Wednesday.

“We are in a golden age of American innovation and are committed to working with his administration to help bring the benefits to everyone,” Pichai wrote.

Apple CEO Tim Cook also wrote on X: “Congratulations President Trump on your victory! We look forward to engaging with you and your administration to help make sure the United States continues to lead with and be fueled by ingenuity, innovation, and creativity.”

Sam Altman, the CEO of ChatGPT operator OpenAI, posted a similar message on social media, writing, “congrats to President Trump. [I] wish for his huge success in the job.”

Altman said in a follow-up post that “it is critically important that the US maintains its lead in developing AI with democratic values.”

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella echoed the sentiment in his congratulatory message on X.

“Congratulations President Trump, we’re looking forward to engaging with you and your administration to drive innovation forward that creates new growth and opportunity for the United States and the world.”

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has yet to issue a statement on Trump’s win.

Neither Cook, Bezos, Pichai, Altman, Nadella, nor Zuckerberg made endorsements for president during the 2024 campaign.

Dallas Mavericks owner and Vice President Kamala Harris surrogate Mark Cuban quickly congratulated Trump before the election was called in his favor.

“You won fair and square. Godspeed,” Cuban wrote on X early on Wednesday morning, also extending a similar message to Tesla owner Musk. Ahead of the election, Musk had campaigned heavily in favor of Trump in Pennsylvania, where Cuban is from.

As for Musk, who attended multiple rallies with Trump after endorsing him in July, also celebrated Trump’s win before it was called. He attended a presidential celebration party at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida.

“The people of America gave [Trump] a crystal clear mandate for change tonight,” wrote Musk on his social media website.

A billionaire investor who endorsed Trump, Bill Ackman, said on X Wednesday that Trump’s win on Tuesday was the “biggest political comeback in history.”
