The battles along his father’s path to the White House—and back again—were hellish, said Eric Trump. Not just for the Trump family, but also for President Donald Trump’s supporters, he told Club 47 USA, a Florida-based group that supported all three of his father’s presidential runs, during an appearance on Nov. 3.

“We just became the proxy for the American people,” he said.

Eric Trump was talking to a capacity crowd of 1,200 people in West Palm Beach, Florida, who were there to hear about his bestselling memoir, “Under Siege: My Family’s Fight to Save Our Nation.”

Although several other members of the Trump family have written multiple books, Eric Trump told the crowd, “I never thought I'd be an author.”

He said he was driven to set the record straight out of anger at other books that disparaged his father, purporting to have insider knowledge. Yet those people “had nothing to do with the fight,” he said.

Amazon.com’s description of the book, which debuted on Oct. 14, reads, “Eric offers an unfiltered look at the highs and lows of life in the Trump world; how he took the reins of a multibillion-dollar empire at thirty-three years old; enlightening stories from real estate to the boardroom of The Celebrity Apprentice, and the chaos of the campaign trail.”

Since 2015, Eric Trump has served as executive vice president of The Trump Organization, the luxury real estate company that his father founded.

He told the audience in Florida that people stood strong for his father, many facing persecution themselves.

“And now he gets to have a lot of fun,” while working at a dizzying pace at all hours of the day and night, Eric Trump said.

“He’s having the greatest time,” he said.

He said that father’s enemies “de-platformed him, de-banked him, took him off the ballots, indicted him 91 times, dragged him through every courthouse in the country.”

The goal, Eric Trump said, was to silence not only Donald Trump but also his family and supporters.

On Nov. 7, Randy Lundi, a retired Army veteran who serves as Club 47 USA’s director of productions, reflected on Eric Trump’s Nov. 3 speech, saying, “The passion and vigor of Eric is something that is new.”

Eric Trump’s older brother, Donald Trump Jr., is better-known as “the fire-breather” of the family, Lundi told The Epoch Times.

“Now Eric is on fire,” Lundi said. “He’s determined to reveal the truth.”

Elisabeth Olsen, a 57-year-old Club 47 USA volunteer, told The Epoch Times that Eric Trump conveyed that the outcome was worth the fight.

She said Eric Trump’s speech was “a message of hope” for America amid the increasing influence of socialist ideals in the nation’s politics.

Denise Curran Reed, 63, of Coral Springs, called Eric Trump’s speech at Club 47 USA “epic.”

“We walked in there and you could just feel the energy,” she told The Epoch Times. “And everyone was just enthralled as they listened to him speak.”

Reed, who read “Under Siege,” said she agrees with the author’s belief that Donald Trump’s 2020 election loss, although hotly disputed and tough to swallow for his supporters, benefited him and the country.

While President Joe Biden was in office as the 46th president, Donald Trump was laying the groundwork for his second administration.

During his first administration, from 2017 to 2021, he faced saboteurs from within, she said.

But she said she believes that things are different during Donald Trump’s second term, she said.

“He has a rock-solid team now. Every single person in that administration, he knows them; he has a relationship with them,” Reed said. “This administration is hitting every beat of what they planned to do.”

Reed also said she thought it was endearing that Eric Trump disclosed that his father sometimes calls him “honey” when they talk. She said she appreciated knowing that the president speaks so affectionately to his children.

She said Donald Trump never gave up despite seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Now his family is pleased “that he’s having the opportunity, the redemption” of a second term, Reed said.

And Reed said another big takeaway for her is this: The president “is just a father who wants his family to be proud of him—and they are.”

A portion of the proceeds from Eric Trump’s book will benefit Turning Point USA, he previously told The Epoch Times, to keep alive the legacy of conservative icon Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on Sept. 10 in Utah.
