LOS ANGELES—An ex-convict who was found guilty of sex-related charges involving four family members was sentenced July 12 to 340 years to life in state prison.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Eleanor J. Hunter called Eduardo PerezHernandez a “habitual sexual offender” and said he deserved “every single day” of his sentence.

“It was the most vulnerable people you had at your disposal that you habitually abused,” the judge told the 47-year-old defendant.

The Los Angeles man had a prior conviction for attempted robbery from 2001 that resulted in his sentence being doubled from 170 years to life.

Jurors found him guilty last month of one count of forcible rape, two counts of intercourse with a minor 10 or younger, three counts of unlawful sex with a minor, along with seven counts of lewd act on a child under 14 and one count of lewd act on a child 14 or 15 years old, according to Deputy District Attorney Ariel Anson.

One of the girls disclosed at a doctor’s appointment in 2015 that she had been raped, but the defendant was not charged at the time, the prosecutor said.

He was arrested and charged after another of the girls spoke to a teacher in 2023, according to Ms. Anson.

Mr. PerezHernandez has remained behind bars since his arrest in February 2023 by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Juvenile Division, jail records show.
