Fifty-one suspects were arrested in Southern California in a months-long crackdown on cargo and vehicle theft.
The San Bernardino Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force, in collaboration with other local agencies, executed a search warrant across three counties. The operation resulted in the recovery of $8 million worth of stolen cargo, $325,000 in cash, and 20 stolen vehicles.
Photos released by the San Bernardino Police Department on July 6 show that much of the stolen property was stored in a warehouse.
During the search, law enforcement also uncovered 20 rifles and handguns, 425 pounds of methamphetamine, 48 gallons of liquid meth, and a working meth lab.
The suspects face numerous felony charges, including train burglaries, conspiracy, VIN-switched stolen vehicles, meth lab operation, meth sales, child endangerment, and possession of assault weapons.
The list of suspects was not released.
